In the run-up to the Fair we’d like to introduce some of our generous supporters, who do so much for the Fair and make everything we do possible. Lillicrap Chilcott has sponsored our limited edition Fair jute bag for several years – we caught up with Ian Lillicrap to talk all things Christmas.

What Christmas gifts will you be looking to buy at this year’s Fair?

The Fair always heralds a host of Christmas shopping opportunities and, if this year is anything like last year’s, is a godsend when it comes to finding Christmas gifts for those lucky ones who appear to have ‘everything’ or, to put it another way, are incredibly difficult to buy for! At previous Macmillan Christmas Fairs, I have come away with everything from beautiful silver plated vessels to spicy sausages – there’s a combination!

How do you celebrate Christmas at Lillicrap Chilcott?

At Lillicrap Chilcott December is always a busy month until about the 20th when finally the attention of the good British public tends to turn towards the festivities of Christmas more so than the sale of their home. Each year, a couple of days before Christmas, our team of just under 30 gets together for dinner, generally but not always at a restaurant in Truro followed sometimes by a little reckless dad dancing and, for that matter, mum dancing – no names!

What inspired you to support the Cornwall Macmillan Christmas Fair?

Our support of the Cornwall Macmillan Christmas Fair goes back a number of years and has become something of a tradition at Lillicrap Chilcott: most of us here have family, relatives or friends who have suffered from or are currently suffering from cancer and therefore, probably in common with most people today, it is a disease with which we are all too familiar.
