Cornish Woodsmith

Cornish Woodsmith produces artisan woodenware, hand crafted in North Cornwall by Dominic Pearce. Bowls, spoons, boards and containers are made using foraged wood and finished straight from the knife with organic, cold pressed flaxseed oil blended with a little cornish beeswax. Drawn in by the meditative nature of working green wood with simple hand tools, I went about learning the age old techniques, refined by generations of craftsmen to create functional domestic woodenware - the items we use everyday to eat, prepare and serve food.

Camilla Costello

I started the business over five years ago when I visited Jaipur in Rajasthan and loved the colours and designs of the textiles. I brought back a small collection which was snapped up immediately by friends and acquaintances. Since then the business has grown, and I return frequently, not only to Jaipur, but also to Jodhpur and Udaipur in Rajasthan, and south to Gujurat and Madhya Pradesh. There, I found hand-stitched textiles from local weavers and artisans of the region. The REHWA Society from Maneshwar and SADHNA from Udaipur are not-for-profit organisations which support the local community while helping to sustain the hand-weaving and stitching traditions. This year I visited Orissa where I bought back Ikat material made by the local weavers. These are particularly popular used as bedspreads.

Glitzy Vintage Jewellery

Glizty Vintage Jewellery was formed through my love of jewellery that was both vintage and unique. I, like many people who buy from me, am fascinated by how old a piece is, how it was made and the history surrounding it. I have pieces from the Victorian era through to the Retro-Modern period of the 1940s/50s, including the Edwardian era (which was the age of Art Nouveau) and the Art Deco period of the 1920s/'30s. When people buy from me I want them to have something unique that evokes memories of a bygone time. I try to make every piece different so no two pieces are the same.

These beautifully packaged and wonderfully scented candles and diffusers are the perfect gift, both for yourself and others. Handmade in Suffolk and of the best quality, the diffusers last for 12 weeks of constant use and the candles burn for 40 hours. Also, these presentation boxes are so beautiful that you'll want to keep them too!

Amy Cooper Ceramics

Amy Cooper Ceramics is a Cornwall, UK based partnership, we design and make unique porcelain lighting. Established 15 years ago we work from our studio at home near Truro. Our ranges include contemporary and unique lamps, lampshades and tea light holders. All the designs have been professionally tested and are certified as compliant with all relevant electrical safety standards. The work is inspired by the world under the sea, the world under the microscope and the magic of landscapes at twilight. My designs address the fragility and transience of life and the natural world, utilising the transformative properties of light with porcelain. I explore a monochromatic spectrum that is created through the use of textures, variation in thickness and diffusion. I am intrigued by the endless variations in nature and the idea of an ongoing evolutionary process of adaptation.

I am hoping to show some of these at this year's Cornwall Macmillan Christmas Fair. They follow the oriental tradition and feature a range of pale blue and soft green glazes. I will still be showing my signature colourful pieces from the "Madrugada" range as well as fun Cornwall inspired vases and jugs.

Marshall & Fuller

We restore antique boxes, writing slopes, tea caddies, sewing boxes, cutlery boxes etc. Most of the boxes are around 1890-1900's so very much antique. We create our own hand marbled papers that then line the boxes making sure every box is unique, and giving them an up to date use, (plus giving them another 100 year's life)!
Stephen has branched out and makes hand made screens, covered with our papers then he hand paints over the top. I do the restoration of the boxes, not sure if we will have any screens as there may not be space or time for Stephen to make more as we had a near sell out at Open Studios Cornwall. We are based in Saltash and have a workshop where people are welcome to come and see us working. We also do restorations for other people.
