£58,500 raised to help cancer patients in Cornwall
As Macmillan continues to expand its essential services within Cornwall, the 2018 Cornwall Macmillan Christmas Fair held at Eden Project earlier this month has raised an amazing £58,500 to directly support Cornwall’s cancer patients.
Organised by our team of volunteers and with the support of the Eden events team, the famous biomes (turned Macmillan Green for the duration of the Fair) once again played host to this most vibrant and popular Christmas event.
“It is a huge achievement that year-on-year a group of volunteers continues to raise such significant sums for Macmillan in Cornwall,” comments Committee Co-Chair Kate Holborow. “We are so grateful to our visitors who continue to support us; even in this uncertain economic climate, income from our stalls has increased and our inaugural Cornwall Macmillan Cocktail Hour and the Great Coodes Christmas Cake Off both proved very popular.”
“Over the 27 years since the Fair was first established by my mother, Lady Mary Holborow, we have raised in excess of £692,000 for Macmillan in Cornwall. From the committee of volunteers, stallholders and business sponsors, through to the Eden Project and the Eden events team, we’re very grateful to everyone for their continued support.”
