Cornish creative agency Voice Group is kindly sponsoring our Fair this year, and has already undertaken a mammoth 24-hour webathon to rebuild our website from scratch. We caught up with the Voice Group team to find out more about the webathon and their involvement with the Fair:
What inspired you to support the Cornwall Macmillan Christmas Fair this year?
We were already aware of the Macmillan Christmas Fair but didn’t fully appreciate all of the amazing work that Cornwall Macmillan do.
As a creative agency we felt that giving the existing Macmillan Christmas Fair website a revamp could help encourage more ticket sales, attract store holders, as well as highlight Fair news and showcase the great work that Macmillan Cornwall does.
We wanted to provide a site that the committee members find straightforward to work with, so we decided to put our skills to good use and rebuild the website … but challenged ourselves to do it in only 24 hours!
What was the most challenging part of the 24-hour webathon?
Not getting distracted by everything at the superb Watergate Bay Hotel and watching all the happy people on holiday while we worked! Apart from that, it was completing the ambitious amount of work involved in the rebuild during the time allocated.
What Christmas gifts will you be looking to buy at this year’s Fair?
The Fair attracts such a fantastic array of individual stallholders, so we’ll be looking out for something unique that’s not available on the high street – something made with real craft, care and consideration.
What aspect of the Fair are you most excited about?
The variety of gifts, decorations, homewares, clothing, food and drink on offer – it’s a fantastic opportunity to see and try new things. The food is always excellent too!
